Superbowl Team Drinks

The Superbowl is one of the few times during the year when team spirit reaches its pinnacle. Whether you are hosting a party or a party-goer, expect to see team colors on jerseys, hats and maybe even some face paint for those die hard fans. And for 2011 it is either the Steelers black and gold or the Panthers green and gold. One fun way to incorporate the “Ra Ra” into your Superbowl celebration is by allowing your guest to show their support through their drink choices. Here are two recipes for Superbowl XLV appropriate drinks.
Steelers Black & Tan
In Steelers traditional black and gold colors, the black and tan perfect. Beer gives the tailgate feel with a rich flavor and smooth finish. To prepare one drink:
- 8oz stout beer (Guinness)
- 8oz pale ale (Bass)
The key is the layering of the drink.
First pour the pale ale into a pint glass.
Next pour the stout beer over the back of a spoon gently to keep the heavier beer on top of the lighter pale ale.
Perfecting this technique may take more than one try. So make sure you have someone to consume the practice sessions.
Packers Incredible Hulk
In Packers traditional green and gold colors, this drink is light and festive. Lemon lime soda as the mixer gives some bubbles while green melon liqueur provides a unique splash of flavor. To prepare one drink:
-
2 oz lemon lime soda (Sprite)
-
1 oz vodka (your fav brand)
-
2 oz melon liqueur (Midori)
Fill your highball glass with ice.
Add vodka and melon liqueur.
Splash with lemon lime soda.
Enjoy!

So that’s why you’re taking Monday OFF!
